This 45-minute tour introduced children aged 6–7 to the fascinating world of medieval women through an engaging and interactive experience. Young participants followed a specially designed trail, marking each stop as they explored the stories and lives of women in the Middle Ages.
The tour brought history to life by encouraging children to experience the past through their senses. They discovered what medieval life looked, sounded, felt, and even smelled like, making the experience both memorable and immersive. The girls wore medieval cloaks, helping them imagine themselves as part of the historical world they were exploring.
The session concluded with a creative workshop in which each child designed and decorated their own medieval manuscript, taking home a unique piece inspired by the people and stories they had encountered.
The trial demonstrated that children were highly engaged throughout the tour and particularly enjoyed the combination of storytelling, sensory activities, dress-up, and hands-on creativity.
